City and County partner to implement new Nixle notification service

Anyone may sign up to receive important messages from the City and County via text messaging, email, and Facebook by using the services of www.Nixle.com. To sign up by cell phone, text the zip code “67104” or the word “Barber” to the phone number 888777. This signs you up to receive “Alerts” and “Advisories” via text messaging. If you would like to receive these messages by email or “Community” messages by text or email, you can sign up at www.Nixle.com. Your phone number and email addresses are anonymous and signing up is voluntary. The service is free, but text message rates may apply. The messages will include National Weather Service announcements, urgent law enforcement information, public safety and disaster emergency announcements, and community updates.
